  1. This quiz, in a general sense, was quite peculiar but self-reflective. I tried limiting myself to a maximum of two choices per answer, which seemed to produce an answer to this quiz that I was not expecting. It wasn’t too long nor was it too short to the point where it felt limiting.

According to the quiz results, I am a Vata Dosha. I’m apparently most joyful when balanced, and a complete mess when I’m not. To be fair, that isn’t too far off and I can relate to that. An intriguing note the results added was pertaining to my being in touch with reality and to say as rested as possible. The latter is a bit hard to come by in college, but it does feel good when i get it. Even so, the two additional aspects go hand in hand.

Another piece of information the quiz’s outcome gave me was that those outside of my friendship circle may find me unapproachable and out of touch. Admittedly, I do seem aloof at times to those around me whether i realize it momentarily or not. It may be, in fact, something that I will eventually have to work on (though it does have its advantages). Overall, this quiz has me curious in terms of exploring other aspects of my personality, whether they were addressed in the results or otherwise.

  2. What Type of Dosha Am I? [2]

    Physical Structure:
    • Vata 14%
    • Kapha 86%
    • Pitta 0%
The report says that I am grounded and stable, which is always nice to hear. But it is affirming that I am this for other people as well as for myself. What it said about how I feel about my appearance is true, but that is obvious from the answers I gave in the quiz. I have a problem losing weight, I like food, so what it said about my metabolism was true. Also ‘In the body these qualities manifest as dense, heavy bones, … low metabolism, and large, stocky frames.’ [1]

    Digestion & Lifestyle:
    • Vata 32%
    • Pitta 36%
    • Kapha 32%
I am Tridoshic, which they say is even and steady but slow. This is so true; the report also said that I ‘seldom experience excessive hunger, thirst, or the desire to eat.’ Sometimes I am so busy when I feel hungry that I have no time to eat. Then by the time I am no longer busy I am no longer hungry. Also, the suggestions on what and when to eat to stay in balance is a helpful reminder, but not a huge eye-opener. I do feel better when I eat fresh local food rather than food that has been processed. According to the California College of Ayurveda [1] to rebalance myself I need to eat food that will generate internal heat. But I do not like or deal well with spicy food.

    Mind & Emotions:
    • Kapha 41%
    • Vata 59%
    • Pitta 0%
This even split between Kapha and Vata is so close and is echoed in the Gemini duality. On reading my report, it seems that it is essential to keep these two sides in balance. I know from experience that when one or both of these are out of balance, myself and those around me suffer.
The Ayurveda Tips in each of the three sections of the report are interesting and helpful reminders. The recipe is one I will try next week. What the report said about having a Kapha Physical Constitution is spot on. A lot of the information and results from this quiz are things I already know. I will admit that it is helpful to have this information all in one place. But there are some aspects of this report that, when I first read them I thought the report had gotten wrong. After thinking about it for a while, maybe it is not the report that is wrong, but me that is out of balance.

    • This quiz is an online shortcut for a mini tutorial on Ayurveda. A real life Ayurvedic evaluation would be with a qualified Ayurvedic doctor and it would be about 2.5 hours long. It’s a complete science for living optimally and is the Sister to Hatha Yoga and developed in India around the same time. Namaste

  3. I found the first thing to strike me about this quiz were the questions and the answers. I was quite perplexed at some of them because I wasn’t sure what they exactly meant. For instance, an answer to the question, “What best describes your complexion”, was “hot”. I was not too certain on what that meant but none the less I answered how ever I felt was the correct and honest answer. My results were that I am a Tri-Doshic Dosha. This apparently means that, while I am centered, balanced, and inspiring, if any part of me goes array, everything kind of comes undone. The main thing I disagreed with was that it had said that I have a very strong immune system but I find that I get sick very often. Other than that it all seemed some what applicable. My mantra was said to Listen. Im sure it would indeed benefit me greatly if I payed more attention to everything and listened more when applicable. Im still a bit hazy on what all of this actually means considering a lot of these terms are very new to me. A Dosha itself is a concept that is very new and I was not aware of before having taken this quiz. That being said I do find it fascinating and will try and learn up on it.

    • Remember to include comparative information and this would give you an opportunity to read an learn more about the science of Ayurveda, it’s nothing like western medicine, it’s a Science for living optimally. Similarly like Chinese Traditional Medicine, it is based on different ways. Namaste

  4. My results were
Pitta Dosha 26% (Fire and Water)
Vata Dosha 42% (Air and Space)
Kapha Dosha 32% (Water and Earth)

My Results stated how I am Vata Dosha. It stated how when I am balanced I am “pure bubbling bliss” and a “babbling mess” when not. Which I almost 100% agree with, but believe maybe instead of just being a babbling mess (which I very much can be sometimes,) I talk and write a lot about how I am feeling in a moment in order to reflect and have a better understanding of something. As well as let out all of my emotions and record them so I don’t forget aspects of the situation and my emotional state that I was in at the time. “Rapid thoughts and fast talking are just a small part of my repertoire” and it also said that I am quick on my feet and generally don’t get weighed down with the worries of every-day life, which keeps me light and inspired. I found this outline to be interesting and very much agree with the quiz results. I love the last line which states “staying rested and focused will allow you to continue to be an inspiration to others and yourself and accomplish your goals.” I think this is very much my personality and I relate to a lot of these characteristics. I know that I am most productive when I focus on myself and give myself enough time to produce what I want as well as put all of my energy into my work. Also extreme highs and lows can be characteristic of the Vata Dosha and I know I feel very passionately, I can get caught up in periods of complete happiness and excitement followed by depression or general low energy, which relates back to why rest is very important to me and how time and reflection allow for better understanding and positivity that I notice myself putting out into the world. I love being in touch with myself and know that in order to get to that level, I need to isolate myself and be able to give myself that time to reflect on the experiences in my life by removing myself from spending time with others. Some people feel as if I am dropping connection with them on purpose, and think that I simply because I do not wish to see them anymore, which is not always the case. This relates to the line in the Vata Dosha description on “there are others outside your circle of friends who may find you unapproachable or out of touch” when I actually just need to give myself some time to evolve. – Rachel Bevacqua

  5. After taking the quiz I didn’t know what a dosha was, they gave me a small reading on how my personality is based off of Vata dosha having the most percentage; “rapid thoughts and fast talking are just a small part of your repertoire. You’re quick on your feet and generally don’t get weighed down with the worries of everyday life, which keeps you light and inspired.”. I thought this was interesting because it does tie into the way i am wired in general.
I wanted to know more about vata and dosha energy in general. After researching I notice I am associated with the Vata Dosha the most. I landed on a site called “Banyan Botanicals”. They made a list of ways to know that your vata is imbalanced. Even though I just found out about the dosha energy, I am able to realize this past week I’ve been really imbalanced. I related to a lot of the symptoms listed on the website. It’s only been about six classes of yoga and my body is already reacting to things differently.
The quiz mentioned I am a “babbling mess” when I am imbalanced which is currently happening since I’ve been worrying a lot especially with this being my last semester and having to do a senior show( sculpture art) and senior thesis, and worrying about what happens after I’m done. I’ve had multiple interrupted sleeps excess thinking and sometimes insomnia for nights. Trying to do the finger breaths and isha kriya but my thinking gets in the way to the point I can’t focus. I’d like to know more on how to keep myself balanced in ways that involve my dosha energy.

    • I think now with all you have going on you should do your IK practice twice daily, when you first awake, second either in the late afternoon or before you sleep. Also do the Finger Holds practice at least once a day, make a schedule to ensure you practice daily for the benefits to accumulate and after a week you should notice your anxiety lowering. You will be making plans confidently to help you progress with your tasks and you will be successful. If you want to chat just let me know it’s good to have another to bounce your plans for feedback and moral support. I just checked the list for the 10/28 Workshop and am happy you took the step to be there, you will have a remarkable shift and soar ahead especially if you put in place the yogic tools as I mentioned, best wishes OM

  6. My result of the quiz was:
    29% Vata Dosha
    48% Kapha Dosha
    23% Pitta Dosha

The description was: typically stubborn, but it is not bad considering that people look to me when they are making big decision.
I find the quiz quite accurate because some of my friends did describe me as stubborn. Before they said that to me, I have never considered myself as a stubborn person because I have always thought it is a good thing to be persistent about what I want to do. However, now I realize it is sometimes good to listen to other people’s opinion and views too. The part about making decision is also accurate. My friends do often ask for my suggestion when they are making decisions.

  7. This was honestly an odd quiz to take, and I did not fully understand the results.

I took the quiz twice – once under “male” and once under “female” because with quizzes that ask for gender identifiers, the answers usually differ. I was surprised to see that I received the same result – Vata Dosha – even when I answered the first question differently.

The questions were funny because they asked things I did not exactly think of about myself. Like taking a breath and then monitoring the exhale and choosing whether it was “oily” or “hard” – I guess it was the descriptions of these motions that were hard to place. I know myself – or at least, to some extent, I am aware of myself – but now I am wondering if I know other ways and words to know myself with, and if I have been using the same descriptions because they are familiar and not necessarily accurate.

My result – Vata Dosha – states “As a Vata Dosha, You are pure bubbling bliss when balanced, and a babbling mess when not.” This is true but also generic because isn’t everyone a mess when they’re not put together? “It’s sort of cute when you’ve had too many cups of coffee how your mouth tries to catch up with your thoughts and action at 30,000 words a minute” – I did not identify with this because I am unable to drink coffee (makes me sleep instead of keeping me awake) but I am constantly running to catch up with my thoughts due to anxiety.

“Rapid thoughts and fast-talking are just a small part of your repertoire.” – I talk fast when I have a lot to say which I always do, but I end up speaking slowly because I’ve realised that it’s not everything that must be said and it’s not everything people must know from your head. “You’re quick on your feet and generally don’t get weighed down with the worries of every-day life, which keeps you light and inspired…” – This I completely identified with; I am quick on my feet because anxiety (before I named my mental illnesses, I accepted them as a part of me and used them to keep me going before collapsing from exhaustion of being) but I do not get weighed down because of another mental health issue – depression. My brain is already consistently weighed down, so the least I can consciously do is not add to the weight.

In conclusion, the quiz did not exactly tell me things I did not know, it just got me to keep thinking about them and to look at them from a different perspective.

This dosha quiz seemed a bit odd at first, but when I finally got my results they came together nicely, to which they made sense. I was defined, prominently as a Kapha-vata Dosha, at 46%, water and earth. The combinations I was put into causes me to overthink situations I may come upon, but this also makes me a deep thinker which helps me look at a situation from all points of view. I can see how this fits my personality from my own point of view of myself.

I am someone who is so indecisive to begin with. I go grocery shopping and I won’t be able to decide what type of yogurt I want to get. It will literally take me 5-10 minutes to finally pick a type of yogurt. When I do get into a situation amongst others, I am usually the one to figure out how to fix an issue amongst them, to which both sides may benefit. I worry about my family and friends more so than I do myself, and this is what the quiz had said. It states that others may come around and worry about me when I come to an issue, because I may not know how to embody the issue that is presented in front of me.

The dosha said that I should take time to breathe and pick three things I want to accomplish and or fix. This way I know I had fulfilled my job. I just need to not stress so much as well.

  9. After taking the quiz, it gave me the results of 34% Kapha Dosha, 44% Pitta Dosha, and 22% Vata Dosha. While I was taking the test, I was kind of confused about the questions and what they had to do with the quiz. However, once I got the results it made a lot of sense.

The results said that I was a Pitta- Kapha Dosha. I haven’t previously heard of this and I had no idea what the results would give me but they were definitely accurate. In the description of what a Pitta- Kapha Dosha was, everything in the description was accurate and described me perfectly. It was interesting to see how spot on the results were from just a short quiz. The results said that I have to focus on being more patient with others and give other people a chance to speak before I give my opinion. I think after reading these results, I will try and take the advice that was given to me to try and improve how I work with others. I enjoyed taking the quiz and it was interesting to learn about what type of Dosha I am.

    • My hope for students is that they follow the writing guidelines and include comparative information that could expand their knowledge of these new concepts. Of course it makes sense the evaluation questions seemed strange to you because Ayurveda is a scientific method for living optimally, completely different from western medicine that focuses on patching acute illnesses. Ayurveda teaches us how important every aspect from thoughts, foods, aerobic exercises and Hatha yoga, environmental factors, sleep and more all factor into how well we live. I hope you will invest more time in your journal essays to include comparative information, OM

  10. “As a Vata Dosha, You are pure bubbling bliss when balanced, and a babbling mess when not. It’s sort of cute when you’ve had too many cups of coffee how your mouth tries to catch up with your thoughts and action at 30,000 words a minute. Rapid thoughts and fast-talking are just a small part of your repertoire. You’re quick on your feet and generally don’t get weighed down with the worries of every-day life, which keeps you light and inspired…”

I found this to be very accurate. I don’t drink coffee, but I talk way too quickly. I’ve always known that about myself. I think a lot of things at once so I am always trying to get all those thoughts into audible words sometimes before they are ready. Sometimes unfortunately this can become stuttering very quickly and I have to stop myself from saying any more, compose myself, and start from the beginning. Otherwise, it will only get worse if I let it.

When it said I am quick on my feet, I assume that means physically. This is also true. I walk faster than all my friends and they usually struggle to keep up with me and have to ask me to slow down. I am usually so intent on getting to whatever destination I have planned that I don’t even consider that others don’t walk as fast as I do. This is usually inspired and fueled by excitement. So I assume that is where the “generally don’t get weighed down with the worries of every-day life” comes in. This however can be a bad thing as once an important deadline or event comes upon me, I have to completely switch gears and I never stop stressing about it.

Overall, I think that this was pretty accurate. -Dennis Mowers

  11. My result is Kapha-vata Dosha. I am 45% Kapha Dosha (water and earth), 48% Vata Dosha (air and space), and 7% Pitta Dosha (fire and water). When I was taking the quiz, I will admit that I was rather skeptical. There were questions that I didn’t know how to answer, such as my face shape and appetite. I also don’t understand how many of these questions are relevant to my Dosha. How does my hair type have anything to do with who I am as a person? Why does it matter whether I am male or female?

The first line of my result was “Obsess much?” This caught me off guard as I was expecting a result that had nothing to do with my personality. But I do obsess. A lot. Over-thinking is my forte. The result also said that “(your family and friends) appreciate your ability to really think through a conundrum, but are worried about you when you embody the issue”. I definitely struggle with balancing issues I face. Too often, I am consumed by my conundrums. I know that this something I have to work on.

This being said, I think that I got this answer because of the emotional section of the quiz, which was the only part that really made any sense to me and that I was able to answer without any trouble. I selected that I am an anxious person and that clearly showed up in my results. My hair type and how many meals I eat, meanwhile, don’t seem like they had impact on my answer, and I remain skeptical. I’m curious about how the creators of this quiz would explain how the traits I think are irrelevant play into my Dosha and my anxious temperament.

    • Ayurvedic evaluations are based on totally different factors than western evaluations. This was only a mini online quiz, a real evaluation would be with an Ayurvedic doctor for about 2.5 hours. Namaste

  12. According to the quiz, I am a Kapha-vata Dosha. This makes a lot of sense to me. Although I usually keep my cool in various external situations, I am always very anxious on the inside. I never really know what to do next or where to go, and will often just do nothing instead of something leading to what I want to accomplish. In intense situations I work well, but in day to day life this can be pretty harmful, as I have noticed.

The advice presented to me after the quiz I think was quite helpful. I always have to remind myself to take a second and breath throughout average life stresses. I underestimate myself in my creative endeavors far too much of the time. It is good to always strive to be more, but it is also good to be confident in your work and what it has to offer others. I may be spreading myself out too thin and feeling the need to do everything, when in reality I should focus on what is most needed at the current moment. Overall this quiz was productive, and gave some more insight to personal characteristics that I may not have realized otherwise.

  13. I didn’t know what to expect with taking the Dosha Quiz. After filling out all the information, I found out that I am/have a Kapha Dosha. This is really interesting considering I am 41% Kapha Dosha, a mix of water and earth and in astrology I am a Virgo sun and a Scorpio rising which are earth and water signs.

I like when two forms of spirituality sort of mesh because it just makes everything seem full circle. The quiz informed me that I am very stubborn which is very accurate but it doesn’t come from a place of bad intentions. I tend to get very invested in helping those around me that my affection sometimes comes off as overbearing or pushy. Practicing lightheartedness and forgiveness are two things that will not only help me to relax and not stress about the little things but make those around me understand me a little better.

The questions in the quiz focused a lot on your diet and the amount of sleep you get. I tend to not sleep very often and sometimes forget to eat because I’m so busy with other things. I’d really like to do more research on doshas and the effects food have on them and possibly find certain foods that may feed my dosha positively and other measures I can take to just balance myself out and become more in tune.

  14. I really liked this quiz! I wasn’t sure what a Dosha was, and I found a definition that described it as “each of three energies that are believed to circulate the body and govern physiological activity.” After reading this, I was really excited to take it. I found the concept similar to that of Zodiac, and as I have friends who are very into that practice, I was interested to see how the Dosha differed from my zodiac and my friends interpretations of my zodiac I’ve had them tell me.

I was identified as a Kapha-vata Dosha, Doshas of both water and earth. I was 34% Vata and 44% Kapha. The quiz told me this Dosha tends to overthink things, and that I have a lot of offer my friends in terms of my thinking power, but I need to release some control and breathe. I definitely resonated with this. I most definitely overthink situations and live in my head, and have been working really hard to get out of this mindset.

    • Dosha is the Ayurvedic categorization of human beings into 3 distinct fields. It’s a scientific field of study dating back at least 6,000 years or more. Ayurveda is the science of living optimally well. It is much more than astrology. Do invest more time in your writing. OM

  15. My results were Pitta-Kapha Dosha, which read:

Emotional, passionate, argumentative, aggressive, inspiring and hot-headed, and that’s within the first 5 minutes of meeting you. Generally, you don’t hold back on your opinions, convictions and beliefs. You also have an incredible ability to recall information and facts, which helps you win many arguments (if you are a lawyer, you may have found your calling).

I found that this was generally accurate. The only one that I disagreed with in terms of how I see myself is I do not think I am aggressive, at least in most instances and definitely not ever physically; and I do not think I am too hot-headed. I am typically more reserved and try to be argumentative in a more calm way, regardless of how worked up, angry, or upset I am.
However, I do think I am a very emotionally-driven person and tend to let my emotions get the best of me at times rather than fully evaluating what is factually and realistically in front of me. I tend to overthink how I am perceived by others and also overthink whether or not I am liked by the people around me.

I do think that I am very strong in my beliefs and opinions and have worked on not letting others’ opinions change my own if I feel confident in them. This is something that I have had to work on a lot, especially since I still do have trouble with fully opening up to people at times. I find that I am getting better at owning my truth and having discussions with others about my beliefs and how they may compare to/contrast their own without worrying too much about having a different belief than someone else.

I do not think I am great at winning arguments all the time, considering that I do not think I am super knowledgable about everything and anything theres is to know. I tend to take a stance somewhere in the middle when I can, unless the person’s argument is against my own beliefs or I factually know that they are wrong and can support that claim.

As mentioned by some others, I think it is most valuable to discover yourself and your traits through self reflection and your being can not be determined by a simple quiz. However, I do enjoy that this made me think about myself in a possibly different way than I would have otherwise.

  16. My initial thoughts while taking this quiz were that the answers to the questions were abstract, which made it interesting because it allowed me to observe myself from a different angle. For example, I never thought of my digestive system being described as “rock solid” and my hair as “wiry”. Similarly, I noticed that the questions could be categorized as either physical or psychological. This is a good example of how the mind and the body are connected. In other words, your mind state and emotional patters can be reflected in your physical symptoms as well; like your ability to digest and your sleeping patterns. I live my life around this idea by engaging in positive habits like exercise, so that I can improve my mind and body. Furthermore, I discovered that my Dosha Quiz results were that I am 38% Kapha Dosha, 45% Vata Dosha, and 17% Pitta Dosha.
The main description of my results is that I tend to over-think many situations. On the surface level this character strait may seem mainly detrimental. However, it is a curse and a blessing at the same time. For example, this personality trait can be negative for me because I tend to overthink many aspects of life that are not that in important. This can cause a lot of unnecessary anxiety and stress. On the other hand, overthinking is great for solving problems and working on projects because I can tackle problems from many different angles. I need to adapt a mindset that helps me turn off this tendency to overthink during times when I do not need to. Yoga will help me with that!
Lastly, I found the advice that the website game people with my personality trait, extremely helpful. The advice it to pick the top three scenario’s, rather than every scenario about something that is stressing me out. I believe this is genius. I tend to think about everything that could go wrong which is not helpful to me. From here on out, I will be mindful of my thoughts and observe when I am thinking too much or in a pessimistic away. Pessimism can be strategic because you tend to think about the worstcase scenario. Ironically, I do not believe too much optimism is good either. I think this because if you think that nothing could go wrong, then you will be unprepared for the reality of things not going as planned. I once read a book about an NBA basketball coach who lived by his pessimistic coaching style and explained it as preparing for the worst situations so that his team and organization were prepared for anything. Thus, I believe the perfect balance is to be 90% optimistic, and 10% pessimistic so that you can be mentally strong and positive, but also prepared for reality/

  17. My results are:

    PITTA DOSHA:
    28%
    VATA DOSHA:
    47%
    KAPHA DOSHA:
    25%

After taking the quiz and reading about Vata Dosha, I think it was pretty accurate. I talk a lot when I am around the people I know and am comfortable with. I do tend to be very forgetful, forgetting to eat, forgetting what people say after they talk to me. I also tend to not pay attention to my important everyday life needs. Being quick on my feet is something that as a stage manager, I need to be and I believe that I am. Throughout the day, I drink to much coffee just to keep up with thoughts and my lack or sleep

  18. After taking the quiz i received “Pitta dosha” which I do not agree with at all. There were a couple characteristics that it mentioned that I agree with a little, but overall I definitely do not agree with the results. The first attributes are having a “dry wit” and a “sharp tongue” and enjoying the company of others who share those two attributes. I can possibly see the “dry wit” as I do enjoy “deadpan” comedy, but do not agree with having a “sharp tongue” as I am absolutely never critical, abrasive or harsh towards other people. The next characteristics mentioned are being a, “Passionate leader” and being most comfortable when I am the one in control. I somewhat agree with this because I do enjoy being in control in the sense that I would really much rather work alone than with a group. The only results I totally agree with are where it mentioned thriving in high pressure/extreme situations which brings out “leadership qualities. I do not believe I am a “passionate leader” as the quiz mentions, but I feel that I do well in high pressure situations and often take the lead dealing with them if no one else steps up. Finally the last piece it mentioned is having a “hot temperament”…That is the farthest thing from the truth. I am one of the most calm people and it takes a lot to make me upset/angry. Actually one of the only things I actually pride myself in is how calm, patient and easy going I am. This is why I am able to deal with high pressure/fast paced situations well. Also, I have worked with children as an after school counselor and as a coach for the past 5-6 years (which requires immense patience and a calm attitude). Overall I do not know how much I agree with the quiz results (which I took twice with a couple varying answers that I was between).

    • Don’t worry this quiz is only an online mini introduction to Ayurveda and the doshas. If someone wanted to invest in a true Ayurvedic evaluation it would be with an Ayurvedic doctor, that would have you purge many things through different treatments, pulse, iris and tongue readings, and a whole host of other things probably the session would be 2.5 hours long. Sorry it didn’t register accurately, Namaste

  19. My quiz results state that I am 34% Vata Dosha, 38% Pitta Dosha, and 28% Kapha Dosha. This means that I am primarily Pitta Dosha. The quiz claims that I “prefer to hang out with intellectuals who have a dry wit and a sharp tongue,” similarly to myself. According to the quiz, I feel at my most understood by these people. I agree with the sentiment here, as my words are often all that I really have in my favor. I have a tendency to engage with things on a deeper level, even when I don’t really want to.

As for the sentence calling me “a passionate leader and lover, and are most at home when [I am] in control,” I kind of agree with this. I do put a lot of passion into what I do in general, and into the relationships I have with those around me. As for being a leader, I think I can be, but am not always. I have taken on the role when I feel like no one else is going to in a situation that is important to me, but beyond that, I prefer for the responsibility to be on others. I also feel as though my self doubt gets in the way of me being a confident leader in certain situations, despite my passion. Being in control is undoubtedly important to me though. When I feel as though I cannot have a handle on a given situation, it often causes me to become very anxious.

I also do thrive in extreme situations with pressure, for the very reasons the quiz stated. It brings out my best and most hard working qualities as someone who can accomplish something. The downside of this, which also appeared in the quiz, was the inevitable burnout that comes with too much pressure. I have felt this many times and continue to struggle to find the right balance of pressure and relaxation. While my body temperature doesn’t naturally run hot, I think the mantra of “cool down” is still an important one. Taking a step back and allowing myself to relax is something I am always trying to do better than I used to, and to see it here in the quiz was validating.

  20. The quiz says that I’m primarily Kapha Dosha and have bits of Pitta Dosha and Vata Dosha as well but to a much lesser degree, my Kapha Dosha was over 60% while my Pitta and Vata Dosha were each less than 30% . The advice it gives Kapha Dosha is “Rather than try to analyze every single infinitesimal possible outcome, pick three possible outcomes, and close the book.” which is very good advice for me because I tend to overthink things to the point where I make the situation worse than if I had just gone with my gut feeling.

  21. I was more Kapa Dosha than anything. It’s actually surprising how accurate this quiz was about my general personality and self by just asking a few questions, especially when it consisted of gut and sleeping pattern questions. The outcome really shows how much I overthink every situation I am put in and that I allow my nerves to get the best of me. I think deeply about most aspects in my life and that can seriously get in the way with my inner peace and general well being with my daily life. These are things that tend to control me and I allow them to do so, so this quiz really brought into light that that is true to my character and with who I am.

      • My results surprised me. … you little Pitta-Kapha Dosha

It makes me sound argumentative. I suppose I can seem obstinate when provoked, but I am not someone who needs to pick a fight. I do not feel the need to impose my opinions on anyone. I think facts are important. I fail to see how a 5 minute quiz can accurately truly assess anyone.

My IK was much needed this week.
I was recovering from an ear infection that caused my vertigo to act up. The IK helped restore balance in me.

  22. This quiz was interesting and wasn’t like what I thought it was going to be. The results were that I was a Kapha-Vata and the description was pretty accurate to how I perceive myself, because I do seem to obsess and overthink things.
My Dosha said I should let go which I fully agree with and also learn to breathe. At first I was confused by the questions but at the end I believed in the results.

  23. I didn’t know I had to take a quiz until I clicked the link. I didn’t understand the results either but my results were 40% Kapha Dosha, 41% Vata Dosha and Pitta Dosha 19%. In the small description, it says that with Vata and Kapha Dosha I’m a deep thinker which is honestly true. Another thing that the description said is that people take me serious and I take myself serious which is another true fact. Finally, the description said how I should let go and not be so afraid to show who I really am.

    • This was not the correct assignment please match the date and title, when you post the correct assignment you will get credit. However make a copy of this because I may give this as an assignment later.

  24. 37% Kapha Dosha
    41% Pitta Dosha
    22% Vata Dosha

Before taking this quiz, I honestly did not what to expect.I was a little confused but after I received the results I was pretty amazed. It was pretty spot on. “Emotional, passionate, argumentative, aggressive, inspiring and hot-headed, and that’s within the first 5 minutes of meeting you. Generally, you don’t hold back on your opinions, convictions and beliefs. You also have an incredible ability to recall information and facts, which helps you win many arguments (if you are a lawyer, you may have found your calling). To this day my mom tells me I should have went to law school”. I am graduating this Spring with a Legal Studies degree. I love the law and love applying it. I love having debates with my boyfriend because we think very differently. I shared the results with my boyfriend and it was amazed at the outcome.

I practice my IK 6 times a week with my boyfriend joining this week. I am still doing it during my lunch break because I find it helpful with my stressful days at work. I am still doing it every Sunday with my mom to help with her blood pressure and so far it has been helping so she has joined me on when I do them before going to bed.

  25. My results were:
    VATA DOSHA:
    34%
    KAPHA DOSHA:
    50%
    PITTA DOSHA:
    16%

It says I overthink situations which is very accurate because people tell me all the time. Overall, the quiz was truthful to how I am and made sense. When I overthink it’s because I’m prone to a lot of stress. I take in stress very easily which is a problem I always have. I always have fear in my mind which is why I will overthink a situation. When I overthink, it might take me away from living my life to the fullest and prevents me from trying new things. This is something I need to work on because when I overthink it usually causes me to become physically ill like getting big migraines. Yoga is helping me with this especially with my breathing during stressful situations.

  26. The results of the quiz were Pitta Dosha 27%, Kapha Dosha 49%, and Vata Dosha 24%. Which means I am a little Kapha Dosha (water and earth). The quiz stated that I am stubborn, but with the good intentions. Also, people rely on me for guidance during tough situations.

I definitely agree with the results of the quiz because it said “Dear Kapha, but you’re typically stubborn. Your stubbornness isn’t all bad though, in fact it’s not bad at all, considering you are usually the one people rely on to make difficult decisions. I have been told that I am stubborn, but I am stubborn not for the wrong reasons. Being stubborn is not all that bad because you’re sticking to your true self and not worrying about other peoples opinions. People do come to me for advice and help, which is one of the reasons why I am majoring in Psychology because I can help more people.

This semester was one of the hardest I have ever done. Life is full of surprises good and bad and I am so glad that the IK has been helping destress myself, find some peace, and to let go of the anger. Practicing the IK at home alone is great because I have no distractions. Any noise I hear I lose my concentration so its great that I am able to find some time to do it alone. I havent shared it with anyone. I can possibly share it with my coworkers since they are nurses and work long hour shifts this would be great for them.

I took the Dosha quiz and got Pitta-Kapha Dosha. In the results I would say I agree with something and don’t agree with others. That’s how most online test are though. I just think it is impossible to get accurate results because you are answering the questions based on how you feel in the moment. If I were to do this test next week I could get something different depending on what’s going on at that time in my life.
The results say that I am water and earth. At least that what I believe it says. I don’t know why but I find that combination of elements interesting. I don’t really know what it means.
I googled the definition of Dosha and found a website article about it on chorea.com. In the article it describes a pitta as fiery and intense. The article describes the Kapha as the contented. The example used for the Kapha was someone who spends quality time curled on a couch making phone calls to uplift loved ones.
As far as the IK practice I will be honest and say I didn’t do it over the break. I didn’t go home for break because I couldn’t afford it. So over break I just worked like crazy. I wasn’t around many people to share the process with them. I did tell my roommates about it a few weeks ago before spring break and everything. But I haven’t told anyone knew. I do plan on starting the process back up again once school starts.

  28. The quiz was pretty interesting, I wasn’t sure what kind of questions it would ask but i chuckled when it asked what kind of appetite i have (mine had a picture of a tiger or something… which is accurate). I tried to only select one answer but I ended up choosing a couple sometimes.

I got 16% Vata Dosha, 46% Pitta Dosha, 38% Kapha Dosha.
I feel like I put too many answers down and it spread my results out too thin. The description matches some of my tendencies and personality traits, but some are less than accurate.

I definitely agree with the part that says I like to argue and the nice things that people can learn within the first 5 minutes of meeting me as a Pitta Kapha Dosha. The mantra that was suggested to me should be Forbearance — I shouldn’t make assumptions and listen more to other people’s sides of things before I jump to conclusions. — Solid advice.

My IK Practice is great, I do it every day and it’s been helping me wake up and start my day with a positive, calm experience. I can also remember my dreams better.

  29. I am a Kapha Dosha! The results of my quiz state that as a Kapha Dosha, I tend to be attached to people/things, though this attachment does stem from love and care. I know I tend to become detail-obsessed, so the results also advise to only consider maybe three outcomes to problems, and then move on. Obsession will only do the mind harm and deter me from clarity and the ability to move along. The results also discuss that as a Kapha, one tends to be stubborn. This form of stubborness refers the ability to make definite decisions and stick to them–I often find that a lot of people rely on me to make a call, and when I do so I have thought through my decisions enough (details and all!) that it certainly is hard for me to change my mind.
My favorite part of the quiz was the suggested mantra of “lightheartedness” and “forgiveness.” When we first discussed mantras in a previous post, I had a hard time feeling wholly connected to the sanskrit chants because I get caught up in the unfamiliarity of the language. But in English, I have a hard time pinpointing just what I want to focus on and make universal and at the same time personal. These are perfect directions to go!
I honestly wasn’t sure what a dosha was in the first place, so I read this overview at http://www.eattasteheal.com/ayurveda101/eth_bodytypes.htm. I now understand they are energies found in the human body and mind. There are three, and we all have some aspects of all three, but are aligned with one based on our tendencies. In addition to what I learned in the quiz about Kapha Dosha, I learned ways to balance the unhealthy habits this dosha presents like overeating/sluggishness/avoiding intellectual challenges. Actively balancing this Dosha includes going to bed early and waking early, understanding the distinction between being nice and getting taken advantage of, and focusing on non-attachment. These are all areas I could use some work in, but appreciate that I know where to begin!
My home Isha Kriya practice is going well and has become routine. I think the environment I practice in is really essential to the success of the practice. With the nicer weather, my most beneficial sessions take place outside. I like that the practice in general has become routine, but I am recognizing (after spring break) that I need to become less attached to my usual routine places and figure out how to make practicing mobile. I had a hard time focusing in my own home over spring break which made me consider what makes my apartment at school so different and what I need to do to readjust and have consistently good sessions. Still working on that!
In addition to my roommate, I shared the practice with my coworkers. We work at a gallery and spend long hours on our computers completing paperwork and research for the gallery. We usually rely on coffee to keep ourselves in tune with the work, but a few weeks ago I taught them Isha Kriya and they have been practicing before work. I just find that the practice allows me to separate myself from the work periodically, and I return feeling naturally refreshed.

    • Well stated, wonderful that you have shared your IK practice with co workers, this will help to make the work environment warmer and more productive with less stress. Namaste

  30. My results surprised me. … you little Pitta-Kapha Dosha you!

Since Pitta and Kapha share the Water element, it’s clear that you can be more extremely emotional than the other dosha’s. You may find yourself being unbelievably happy one minute then upset or really mad the next. Your mantra should be FORBERANCE. Much of what gets you into arguments is lack of patience and having the ability to listen to the actual argument, rather than make assumptions. Take one step at a time, and don’t forget to let your ‘opponent’ have their say before you pounce prematurely.

  31. Pitta Dosha: 15%
    Vata Dosha: 55%
    Kapha Dosha: 30%

I personally loved my Dosha Quiz Results, I thought the summary was very accurate! I do tend to overthink a lot and I often find myself as a deep thinker. “This is a fantastic trait to have when you are working with a rather risky endeavor, and people are looking for hidden pitfalls on a project. However, it’s a little bit annoying when trying to decide on what brand of milk to buy.” My Kapha-vata Doshas summary really made me analyze my decisions. I should focus more on just doing me, and letting go. I tend to over-analyze and plan everything ahead of time, but I should find more time to relax and less time to stress out. Personally I liked taking this quiz because I’ve recently been fascinated by astrology and have been taking quizzes for my signs, and learned I had the same results for both kinds of tests, which I found interesting!

  32. In my Dosha quiz, I got the Kapha Dosha. It tells me that I am typically stubborn, but not necessarily in a bad way. My attachment comes from love and caring and my mantras are forgiveness and lightheartedness. It tells me that I need to try to stop over analyzing things and accept a few outcomes.
I think that this is pretty accurate, I very much over analyze every situation, my anxiety getting the better of me. I need to breathe and relax and try not to think so much and it will help me to calm my anxieties and to live life at a better level. I have done my Isha Kriya 6 times over the break every night in my room, telling my family about it and my sister may be starting to try it out as I encouraged it and told her about the benefits of it.
I used an article from Yoga International that is about Kapha Dosha to learn a little more about it. It talks about the different characteristics, actions, qualities, and more so I can learn from it to see how it related back to me more.

  33. It’s been a long time coming now, but I am proud to finally say I am a Vata-Pitta. In all regards to honesty, I did not expect this online quiz to be as painfully accurate as it turned out to be. I definitely burn too hot and too bright sometimes, and I am painfully aware of how I can get too excited about something before I properly formulate an Idea about that something. Rather than let something settle in, my nature tends to be to react excitedly so long as what I am reacting to demands such a reaction, however, those auspices are obviously circumstantial and subject to my own personal perceptions.

I really like the idea of being connected to Space, because of my general interest in the properties of space and the phenomena that currently permeates our solar system. I think the idea that I have always had a greater connection to the Air and Space is comforting to me because of how I’ve always identified with Sci-Fi Novels and Alien Conspiracy theory. I’ve always held the belief that not enough people spend time looking up at the sky, and that we as a whole are missing the greater possibilities of the universe confined to the limits we set upon our mindsets.

    • Me too! I spent part of my semester break moving to the California desert to witness the Night Sky. There are now a few designated places around the world that have cooperation for hundreds to thousands of miles wherein all homes and businesses abide not polluting the Night with certain kinds of light pollution. I haven’t seen the stars since I was a young girl and I was so enchanted! I took a Night Sky Tour with an Astronomer with a telescope and learned so much! I truly feel that I am just one small speck and was grateful to see some of the millions of stars. Namaste

My result of the Dosha quiz was a Vata-Pitta. According to the test, I am an intense individual, which is good when I am in balance. Vata-Pitta Doshas can “touch, move, and inspire people to rally” to our causes. The results say that Vata-Pittas are perfectionists with hard work ethics. However, balance is important because we can often push people too far for the sake of getting work done.

The results say my mantra should be “cool, calm and collected” and I should try meditating on a problem rather than jumping to conclusions to get the job done faster. This is something I would like to incorporate into my life because I can often be abrupt rather when it comes to personal issues rather than allow myself time to figure out what the best solution for myself is.

I have been doing my Isha Kriya five times a week and have only told my mom about it. She has not joined me yet, but I am glad I shared a good way of relaxation with someone like me who tends to need that. I will probably share the Isha Kriya with my aunt soon because she used to take me to some of her yoga classes when I was young and we often talk about different practices we learn in yoga.

  35. This was an interesting quiz. I wasn’t quite sure exactly what would consist but it was all very blunt questions about my features and way of life. It was interesting writing about my views on myself and then getting feedback on their take. I am a bit confused how it works but was eager to listen to what the website figured out. Thank you for this experience. Here are my results.
    VATA DOSHA:
    37%

    PITTA DOSHA:
    43%

    KAPHA DOSHA:
    20%

sarah dailey… you little Vata-Pitta Dosha you!

To be blunt; you’re an intense individual, which is pretty awesome when you are in balance. As a Vata – Pitta Dosha, you can touch, move and inspire people to rally to your cause. You can create an idea AND keep the momentum moving exceptionally well – only you have the ability to accomplish this without a flaw. You are a perfectionist; nobody does it as good as you can, even when it is their job, not yours.

    More About Vata-Pitta Doshas:
Although a hard work ethic is a great thing to have, you may be hard on your colleagues and coworkers; they may respect you for being a hard worker, but they have their limits, so calling them at midnight about a detail you are obsessing about won’t get you any brownie points. Since you are a combination of Pitta and Vata, imagine air being blown strategically onto the flame in order for it to burn hotter and brighter — this is your nature. Your mantra should be COOL, CALM and COLLECTED. Try meditating on a problem rather than jump to conclusions in order to get the job done faster. Being a leader means you also need to nurture your relationships.

After reading this i felt very passionate about what they said an found that i need to take more breaks in life and not always have all of my stuff together. Everyone needs a break in life and i feel it will soon be time for me to slow down my roll. I will always enjoy inspiring others and working through issues so i found this to be fairly accurate.

  36. This was definitely a very insightful quiz which I am quite happy to have taken! I discovered that I am a Kapha-Vada dosha. This means that I tend to obsess over details a lot and over-analyze situations to the max. It said that this can be very beneficial in some ways in terms of entering a risky situation or doing a project where I need to observe problem areas. It can be negative when dealing with people because I can be annoying or overly observant of any and all actions, mistakes, etc. These things are not necessarily news to me but it’s always interesting to do some digging into yourself so that you can properly evaluate and make adjustments with a clear more objective perspective.
Thank you for the exciting quiz!

  37. These were my results:
“Mackenzie… you little Kapha-vata Dosha you!
Obsess much? Your dosha combination can cause you to over-think the situation. As both a Vata and a Kapha Dosha, you are a certainly a deep thinker, and usually cover every angle of a situation as it presents itself. This is a fantastic trait to have when you are working with a rather risky endeavor, and people are looking for hidden pitfalls on a project. However, it’s a little bit annoying when trying to decide on what brand of milk to buy.
    More About Kapha-vata Doshas:
The reality is that people do take you seriously, as you do yourself. Perhaps your mantra should be LET GO! You have a lot to give your friends, family and colleagues. They appreciate your ability to really think through a conundrum, but are worried about you when you embody the issue. Pick the top three scenarios, rather than every scenario, then walk away knowing that you’ve done your job. Oh, and don’t forget to breathe!”
I feel like all of this is sorta right, I usually focus on horoscopes and things of that nature, but I am still concerned, even If i were to let go, people might think I won’t care, and I don’t want to be seen as that.
But, I always feel like I am walking on eggshells, just not to hurt anyone if I ever do speak up, which I rarely do, I will admit.
This was a really interesting exercise.

  38. To my friends and family and the people I surround myself, I am considered as someone who is easy to talk to and gives good advice. I have a lot of empathy for the people I love and what they care about and having first hand been in a place of isolation and confusion, I would never want the people I care about to feel as though they have no one. I make it clear to all my friends that I am available to listen and try my best to understand and give unbiased advice as needed.
When you’re in a place in which you cannot describe what you are feeling and you don’t know what to do about it, it is even more discouraging when people think you are just being lazy. For my friends or anyone who would come to me for advice, I make sure to humble myself and understand that I could never understand exactly what they are going through. When someone needs help the most important thing is to not judge them if they know they need help that is already a good start.
After taking the Dosha quiz apparently, I am “balanced, centered, and inspiring, until [I’m] not,” which in these terms I am referred to as a Tri-Doshic Dosha. According to the quiz, this means that I am meant to and capable of guiding those in need. Though what I learned from this is that I have to guide people cautiously because I have a significant influence that I am not aware of the extent of.
