RIP Pandit Ravi Shankar who brought Indian classical music to the West.  He shared so much with us via many genres.  The great maestro has left the building but left many accomplished students to keep his music going and equally important music lovers around the globe.  Do click the link above to read an article from NPR online and to listen to some of his masterpieces.  May his Spirit continue to bless us with glorious vibrations again and again.   1. I feel compelled to reply to this post. I was randomly thinking, just moments before hearing about his death, about Ravi Shankars daughters concerts (anouska and norah jones) i attended a couple years ago separately. What a talented family.

    He was always pro music and preferred his music to be experienced without drugs–very telling about the character of this man.

  2. I was lucky enough to hear a nice segment about Mr. Shankar on NPR. It was interesting to hear him talk about the instrument.
