Please do click on the link above to read what Sadhguru from The Isha Foundation explains about Makar Sankranti.  Most festivals in India have significance to natural phenomenon.  Makar Sankranti, Pongal are the names given for this time in South India, in the northern areas it may be called Lothri, but there are over 500 languages in India!  Even here in New York we can today see how the season has changed from drastic winter sub-freezing temperatures to now somewhat moderate.  Something is happening, some change is always going on and the more we understand about the natural rhythms and our relationship the easier we may navigate with our energies.  I hope you can take the time to reflect upon these occurrences and mark it with some significance if not ritual to acknowledge respect for being apart of this awesome Cosmos.  Happy Pongal!  With Gratitude, OM
