KarmaTube: Sit Happens.

Please do click the link above to watch this short video showing Timber Hawkeye.  Hawkeye is the author of “Buddhist Boot Camp.” He started a blog about his spiritual journey and was followed by so many that he created this simple methodology for those who were not ready to study the extensive Buddhist texts.  Timber Hawkeye is a young man who is a Shining Beacon and model for other young folk to look inward.  So wonderful to have young people walking the Path and inviting others along.  His premise is that Gratitude leads to Happiness and when we give ourselves permission to Sit and be Mindful we can become our best, breath by breath. Please do share this post with folks both young and not so young, as encouragement for the ranks are widening…another Pleasant Being on the Planet! Namaste

We are best at creating a meditative quality through our Yogic and listen to Sadhguru explain more about this....

Why are Consecrated Spaces so Powerful?

Keeping the ideas moving ahead about the powers of Sacred Spaces the link below the picture is audio, my reading from “The Isha Files” about the powers of Indian Temples…as you listen you may get a sense of how inclusive for all beings these Temples are as they align natural power grids between us and the planet.  There is an encyclopedic mythology that is woven through and around, but there is a true science behind the stories.  These “stories” are a way to personalize the events that are cyclical, unique, as well common to the mental, emotional and psychic energies we all experience.  The “stories” thread together the aspects that are basic to being human as well demonstrate how to use our inherent capacities to soar to higher and more Divine realms.  Think of Indian consecrated Temples as “Charging Stations” that were designed and constructed  thousands of years ago, and most of us are still trying to comprehend its meaning and are challenged by its science.  Two steps forward, three thousand backwards, half step forward, free step, oops Ego-alert then back again to zero, what a crazy game we play!  Okay, bonus points if you can name the image and its location in the picture above, you can name your number of bonus points if you win!! Chimney Cam moves the Papacy into modern times…Basillicas, Synogogues, Mosquees & Temples & More….OOOh My!!!

IMG_0796Congrats to the Catholic worldwide community with the first Pope elected originating from outside Europe! Congrats for choosing from a different more humble order, Jesuit! Hopes are high that this new Pope Francis I, will bring the necessary changes to the Catholic organization so layered with controversies.  Why write about Catholicism in a Yogic blog?  Receptivity is key for One-ness.  Sri Aurobindo said, “Whenever there is sincerity and goodwill the Divine’s help is also there.” Personally I find a profound energy pervades sacred spaces regardless of the philosophy or religion.  There is something very peaceful that exudes from consecrated spaces be it: Temple, Church, Synagogue, Mosque, and Monasteries, I always make time to visit and take in the special vibrations when I can visit.  Whether it is the Mosquee in Paris, Jama Masjid in Delhi, Isha Dhyanalingam in Coimbatore, India, St. John the Divine in New York or a friend’s child’s Bat Mitzvah or a family Seder.  The Dalai Lama always says for those interested in Buddhism to continue to follow the faith that they are familiar and accustomed to.  Religion and Spiritual practices are two separate functions.  For many religion is the first path towards moral and ethical preparations within their culture and community.  We as a worldwide community of peoples have so many valuable and amazing different patterns, perspectives, habits as answers for the basic questions of how to live well.  Loving humanity keeps one curious about the differences and how these differences even have commonality.

I have been fortunate to have lived in Rome, Italy for over a year, many years ago and have several occasions to visit several times.  The first time was when a Christmas eve had arrived I so wanted to go to St. Peter’s for the Midnight Mass as for all my years as a girl I “had” to watch it on television, as my stepfather and brothers were Catholic.  I felt compelled to go there but was afraid to go and knew it was impossible to get inside with the crowds and at that time an invitation was necessary to enter the Basilica.  Expressing my concerns to a group congregated at a lunch meal at the American Academy in Rome, a brave soul, the late Warren Tanner, a proud Jew!, called out if you want to go, we will get you in by hook or crook! So a small group of New Yorkers, led by this amazing Jewish artist, Warren, past all the Caribineri, the Swiss Guards, and Papal clergy right up the steps into the doorways and into a front pew with a great view to the Mass.  First thing I noticed was that the Basilica was lighted by electric lights and all the frescos, all the sculptures were so vivid and easier to see than when normally walking through with only daylight.  I realized the great Renaissance artists never got to see their masterpieces in such lighted splendor and I realized the power of art used as propaganda, something the Papacy knew from thousand of years ago.  The power of the Papacy became evident to me at that instant and all my History and Political science studies as an undergraduate filled in the gaps between oohs and awes recognizing the Papacy was in effect a government that exerted power over millions for hundreds of years mostly for its power and not for the souls of its masses.  But yet knowing all of this kept drawing me to always visit when in Rome as again, three years ago.  We could only arrive there by late Christmas morning and I was afraid we couldn’t get close enough.  Surprised to find there we could walk up to the fountain and the seats assembled hardly were filled.  After a short time the Swiss Guards invited standing folks like us to have a seat!!! I was amazed how few had assembled and how the impact of all the controversies had impacted the following at the Vatican…Fast foward…let’s see what Pope Francis I, brings for  Catholics worldwide.

Something happens to folks after some time following religious orders…sometimes they begin to yearn to know about their own Divinity and they begin to seek Spiritual pathways…some may choose to wear two hats continuing with their religious faith (often family and cultural ties are linked with religion and many find a way to keep connected sanely) and a new spiritual path and some choose to stay simply on the spiritual path…options are endless…Best wishes to All, Namaste

The Science behind the Stories of Shiva as told by Sadhguru

Shiva as Nataraj

Listen to Sadhguru’s story about the Adiyogi read by Anjali Yogini

I know its been a long time since posting…been doing a lot of internal work to prepare for Mahashivarathri, this past Sunday’s amazing 24 hour Yogic upliftment for Yoginis & Yogis.  When one is prepared by doing intense sadhana for an established period of time prior to the time when the planet shifts.  This shift allows the energy to move up in the body in such a way to uplift our energies and allow us to move forward with this new power.  It is quite different from being blessed as I was last year at Isha in Coimbatore, India…so much personal work was needed to keep the cultivation primed to be ready to receive the vibrations as best as possible.  I was fortunate that a good friend did bring from Allahabad, India the sacred raksha, thread for the wrist, (extra blessings as it was acquired during the Maha Kumbh Mela!) Just below the picture in this post is a link to my audio, with the information that Sadhguru shared during the Sunday event.  Just click the orange arrow when you open the link to hear the story.  A new bonus that WordPress gives are two of the audio music tracks from the Sounds of Isha, quite lovely!

I think it is very important for those of us who take our yoga seriously to make an effort to understand the power behind the practice…to understand it as a scientific practice or as Sadhguru says Technologies for Wellbeing.

Many practicing today find it too overwhelming to investigate the origins and the authentic texts for this ancient practice for the Art of Living, but that is why it is important to invest time, effort, support and respect for  living Masters such as Sadhguru to help us translate, decipher, this vital information.  For many the practice is limited to only the physical body, but that is really only the beginning place.  Many quote yoga is All One…but how does that really manifest?  The more we allow ourselves to be exposed to this information it helps us to surrender to where we fit into the Cosmos and this perspective is a needed remedy for ego.

My wish for all Yoginis and Yogis is that your practice keeps you receptive to continually uplifting your energies, Namaste
